Lately, I’ve been having writer’s block. When I first started writing this blog I intended to update it once a day. Once a day quickly became once every two days, which quickly became a few times a week (if I’m lucky).
And the more I think about it, the more obvious it is to me why we all sometimes have “writers block”, or lack of creativity, ingenuity, or good ideas.
The more we try to plan or over think things, the more complicated they become.
My best ideas have come at the weirdest times, great opportunities came unexpectedly, and some of my most insightful and eye opening conversations happened with strangers. Completely unexpected and out of the blue.
This idea, or notion of “out of the blue”, not only applies to good ideas, but to life and opportunity.
If we plan less, work hard, and keep and open mind, the complicated becomes simple, and those good ideas come out of no where.

My name is also Daniel Reich, and strange as it seems, I found your blog doing a bing search on my own name.
I am a professional fur harvester in rual Iowa in the fall and winter monthes, and a carpenter the rest of the year.
I am curious about the pronuciation of your last name. I pronounce mine “Rich”, not the standard German way. My family feared the germans during the 1940's would be persicuted due to the war and treated much the same as the Japanesse.
I am NOT a computer person. I go to only one site. http://WWW.Trapperman.com. It is down right now, that is how I found you. Since a small child, My nick name has been “Pogo”, and that is my handle on that sites “Trapper Talk” forum. I could be reached via PM on that site.
“Pogo the 'possum” was a cartoon caracter witha political flare. He coind the phrase, “We have met the enemy, and he is us!”

So I live in New Jersey. My last name is pronounced the German way: “Rike.”
My family was intimately involved in WWII and the holocaust, having lost
many friends and family in both the war and concentration camps.
Now, the “Reich” family are all pretty much builders or doctors. I'm the
first to break that tradition and go into technology.
I have 2 siblings (younger brother and sister), mother, father, and
grandparents (my father's parents are the survivors and “Reich” bloodline).
I was in the midwest for 4 years (University of Wisconsin-Madison).
Super glad you reached out and also nice to hear that you enjoy the blog
entries. Might have to write one about this “small world” encounter.
